The United Nations Security Council on Wednesday rejected Pakistan's plea to nominate two Indian nationals as terrorists under the 1267 sanctions committee process. This is because Pakistan was unable to produce sufficient evidence to substantiate its allegations. This attempt of Pakistan is being seen as a response to India's success in enlisting Jaish-e-Mohammed founder Masood Azhar as a global terrorist by the 1267 committee. But it has failed in this.

In the year 2019, Pakistan started an initiative to nominate a total of four Indians as terrorists. The neighbouring country was constantly telling the UN Security Council that these four Indian citizens were allegedly involved in state-sponsored terrorism. Pakistan had also alleged that they were all part of the Afghanistan-based group which had helped in organizing terrorist attacks by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar.

A person aware of this whole incident said that the two Indians who tried to nominate Pakistan include Venumadhav Dongra and Ajoy Mistry. This claim of Pakistan was clearly rejected by the Security Council in June-July. Now on Wednesday, during the discussion on this matter, the Security Council rejected Pakistan's attempt to declare two Indians as terrorists, as the neighbouring country failed to produce evidence.
