On Tuesday, Pakistan's former PM Imran Khan was arrested by the Rangers of the Pakistani Army. In protest against the arrest, Imran Khan's supporters are arson and vandalism across the country, in which many people are reported to have died. Islamabad Police said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief has been arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case. Along with the arrest of Imran Khan in this incident, another name has come in the news – Malik Riaz. 

Malik Riaz is a real estate developer among the richest men in Pakistan and it is said in Pakistan that he plays a key role in forming and toppling governments. He has access to big leaders of all parties. The case in which Imran Khan was arrested was disclosed by Malik Riaz. Actually, the case of alleged corruption in Al-Qadir Trust dates back to when Imran Khan was the PM of Pakistan. While in office, he allowed the establishment of a university in the Punjab province of Pakistan to promote spirituality and Sufism. The government of Punjab had bought the land for the construction of the university. It is alleged that Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi had committed corruption in the purchase of land.

Malik Riaz, the founder of the real estate developer company Bahria Town Company, while disclosing this corruption, said that Imran Khan and his wife had illegally grabbed his land worth crores. He said that Imran Khan and his wife together threatened him and threatened to send him to jail for speaking against it. Al-Qadir Trust has only two trustees – Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), an organization working against corruption in Pakistan, had called Malik Riaz and other beneficiaries on December 1 last year to investigate the matter. And finally now Imran Khan has been arrested in this corruption case. In June 2022, a case came to light regarding Imran Khan and Malik Riaz. At that time an audio was leaked and it was told that this audio is of a conversation between Malik Riaz and his daughter Amber. In the audio, Amber told her father Was told that Bushra Bibi is demanding a 5 carat diamond ring in return for the benefits extended to her by the previous government of Imran Khan. After the audio leak went viral, Riyaz denied his role in any political matter. He had claimed in a tweet that the leaked audio clip was not of a conversation between him and his daughter but was fabricated.

68-year-old Malik Riaz is Pakistan's billionaire business tycoon who has deep penetration in political circles. His name is taken not only in Pakistan but also in Asia's largest real estate developer. He started his career as a small contractor and gradually started getting big contracts. He also started getting contracts from Military Engineer Services of Pakistan. Thereafter, in the 1980s, he formed his own real estate developer company – Bahria Town. Today this company is one of the largest real estate developer companies in Asia.
