Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar thanked the people for getting a majority in the Bihar assembly elections last Wednesday. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support. In a tweet, he wrote: "The people decide. I bow to them for giving the NDA a majority. I also thank PM Modi for his support."

While crossing the opposition's tough challenge in a very exciting contest in the Bihar assembly elections, the Nitish Kumar-led (NDA) captured 125 out of 243 seats. RJD had 110 seats. In addition to BJP's 74 seats in NDA and 43 seats of JDU, Hindustani Awam Morcha got four Development Man Party (VIP) four seats in the ruling coalition partners.

In the opposition Grand Alliance, the RJD won 75, Congress 19, CPI male 12 and CPI and CPI-M won two seats, and the party could not win. Remind you that during the campaigning for Bihar assembly elections, Nitish Kumar had said, "If the NDA comes to power again, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take special steps for Bihar. Go ahead and join the developed states.'
