NEW DELHI: In a bribery case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained Mohammed Khalid Moin, a lecturer at Jamia Millia Islamia University, and recovered Rs 30 lakh in cash from his home on Wednesday. In connection with the case, two more people were arrested. In addition, the agencies detected suspicious Rs 1,19,78,493 in his bank accounts.
Moin works in the university's Department of Civil Engineering, while the two others, Prakhar Pawar and Abid Khan, are Vyom Architect workers.
According to a top CBI official, a complaint has been filed against the professor on suspicions that he issues structural stability certificates for projects after accepting bribes. The CBI set up a trap for the professor and two others while they were accepting the Rs 1 lakh payment. searches are being done at the accused's residence. The officer stated, "The arrested accused will be presented before the designated court in Delhi."
