New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi today attended a virtual summit with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Saturday. Meanwhile, PM Modi thanked Rajapaksa for accepting the invitation. He expressed hope that the two countries will work together on every issue. Along with this, we will solve all the problems through dialogue.

Along with this, PM Modi also congratulated Sri Lankan PM Mahinda Rajapaksa and his party for winning the general elections. Addressing this virtual summit, PM Modi said that the relationship between India and Sri Lanka is more than thousands of years old. According to my government's neighborhood policy and Sagar principle, we give special priority to the relationship between the two countries.

On this, Sri Lankan PM Mahinda Rajapaksa said that he thanked PM Modi for the way India supported his country during the global pandemic coronavirus. Let me tell you that this month India once again set the example of being a good neighbor. In fact, the Sri Lankan Navy sought help from the Indian Coast Guard after a ship loaded with crude oil caught fire, after which India immediately dispatched the rescue team.
