India, Israel, will create state-of-the-art weapons together

New Delhi: India and Israel are considering to deepen their defense partnership. For this, both countries want to co-develop and co-produce high-tech weapon systems projects. They will export it to their friend countries. On Thursday, the Secretary of Defense of India, along with its Israeli counterpart, has formed a sub-working group to encourage such projects.

The main functions of the Sub-Working Group (SWG) working on defense industrial cooperation will be technology transfer, joint development and production of defense equipment, technical security, artificial intelligence, innovation and joint exports to other countries. Israel has been ranked fourth in the list of arms supplier countries to India for nearly two decades. It sells military equipment worth about one billion dollars (about 70 billion rupees) to India every year.

Giving information in this regard on Friday, a senior officer has said, "Now the Indian defense industry is also becoming stronger. In such a situation, both countries felt the need to increase co-development and co-production projects along with more R&D".
