India's spiritual guru Swami Pratyagbodhananda Saraswati dies in US, funeral to be held in Surat today

Washington:Swami Pratyagbodhananda Saraswati, the vice president of Arsh Vidya Gurukulam, who has been teaching Vedic education for the past several decades in America, has died due to heart attack. His body has been brought to India for the last rites. According to the information, many students living in America had demanded to establish a gurukul imparting traditional education of Vedanta. After this, in 1986, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, the spiritual guru of PM Narendra Modi, established this Aarsha Vidya Gurukulam in Pennsylvania.

69-year-old Swami Pratyagbodhananda Saraswati was the vice-president in this Gurukulam. After he took part in the 34th anniversary celebrations on September 20, he suffered from chest pain. Shortly thereafter, he was taken to the hospital for treatment, but he could not be saved. Swami Pratyagbodhananda Saraswati used to keep a good grasp on English, Gujarati and Hindi languages. He used to teach Tulsi Ramayana and Bhagavata Purana along with Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads and Panchadasi. He was to fly to India on 22 September by Air India aircraft. But before that, he said goodbye to the world. Now his body has been brought to Mumbai on 25 September by Air India aircraft.

Swami Pratyagbodhananda Saraswati has a huge fan following in India, especially in Mumbai and Surat. His body is kept in Surat for visitors. His last rites will be performed today in Chanod, Vadodara.
