New Delhi: Congress on Saturday launched the "Raise voice for farmers" campaign on social media, in which Rahul Gandhi requested people to say that the Narendra Modi Government is exploiting the farmers. Raise voice against three bills related to agriculture which were passed by both houses of parliament during the monsoon session and awaiting the President's assent. Meanwhile, the movement against the agricultural bills has started intensifying.
Rahul Gandhi has tweeted saying, "Raise voice against the atrocities and exploitation of farmers by the Modi government. Join the campaign." In the video, the party appealed to withdraw the bills. The Congress alleged on its official Twitter account that the agriculture bills passed by the government in a highly undemocratic manner are nothing but an attack on our farmers and an attempt to turn agriculture into another revenue stream for their capitalist friends'."
Along with many other opposition parties, Congress has claimed that the agriculture bills will harm the interests of farmers and benefit corporates. The Center has said that the bills will be beneficial for the farmers and will increase their income.
