Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA and former minister Azam Khan's troubles in the Yatimkhana case seem to be mounting. In this case, two victims have identified the accused in court. The case pertains to the forcible eviction of Yatimkhana Basti under the Rampur Kotwali area. The accused are accused of breaking into the house and looting, assaulting, dacoity and theft of buffaloes.
The matter came up for hearing in the MPMLA court via video conferencing on March 11, 2022. Meanwhile, Mohammad Qamar alias Pappu and Munne, residents of Sarai Gate, confirmed the case of the theft of buffaloes. They also identified SP leader Azam Khan, retired CO Ale Hasan, SP general secretary Virendra Goyal and Islam Contractor, who appeared in the court through video conferencing. All the victims repeated their old statements in court.
Let me tell you that the Yatimkhana case is of the year 2016. On October 15, 2016, Qamar had alleged that around 30 people, including the SP leader, barged into his house. After packing all the belongings out of the house, bulldozers were fired at him. They also took four buffaloes. A case was registered against the accused in 2019. A total of 12 cases were registered in this regard in the Kotwali police station area. However, the court has posted the matter for further hearing on May 6, 2022.
