New Delhi: In recent years, India's defence industry has undergone significant development. The nation's defence capabilities have been the focus of the government's attention. To achieve this objective, a number of significant initiatives have been made:

 

1. Make in India: The Make in India campaign aims to promote indigenous manufacturing and reduce dependency on imports. It encourages foreign and domestic defence companies to establish manufacturing units in India through incentives and policy reforms.

2. Defence Procurement Policy: The Defence Procurement Procedure has been revised to streamline the procurement process and promote domestic production. It includes provisions for strategic partnerships, allowing Indian companies to collaborate with foreign original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to build defence platforms.

3. Technology Transfer: Efforts are being made to acquire advanced technology through collaborations and technology transfer agreements with foreign defence companies. This enables India to enhance its indigenous research and development capabilities.

7. Defence Exports: India has been actively promoting defence exports to enhance its standing in the global defence market. Initiatives like the export of indigenously developed defence equipment and components are being undertaken to boost defence exports.

8. Cybersecurity and Space Capabilities: India is also focusing on strengthening its cybersecurity capabilities and space-based assets for defence purposes. Efforts are underway to develop advanced cyber defence systems and enhance satellite technology.
