In joint session of state legislature, Governor Phagu Chauhan explained government's plans

Patna: Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan on Friday lauded the efforts, vaccination drive and all other steps taken by the state government to deal with the pandemic. Addressing the joint session of the Bihar legislature, Chouhan said, "The government has made every effort to deal with and mitigate the adverse impact of Corona. The vaccine is a protective shield against Corona and the Bihar government is working on a mission mode to speed up the vaccination drive in the state." 

He also said that in addition to this, tests are being conducted for detection and vaccination of corona cases on a large scale in the state, so far about 11.88 crore persons have been vaccinated in the state. The Governor further said that the top priority of the state government is to establish the rule of law. 

Elaborating on the Bihar government's vision document 'Saat Nishchay', the Governor said it is a roadmap to achieve the state government's target in the coming years in areas including health, infrastructure, employment and women's empowerment. On prohibition in Bihar, he said laws against liquor are being strictly enforced in the state. The Governor said that the state government will also continue its campaign against social evils like dowry and child marriage. In the wake of the governor's address, CPI(M) MLA Satyadev Ram read out his speech in parallel opposing his address. Ram raised issues related to farmers, labourers and law and order in the state with the support of his party members. The Governor's speech was followed by different actions of both the Houses to pay homage to the departed dignitaries who passed away recently.
