The Indian Railway is introducing the Vistadome coach, a state-of-the-art innovation designed to transform the journey experience for travelers along the picturesque railway route between Budgam and Baramulla. The grand inauguration is expected to be graced by either Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha or the Union Railway Minister.

Vistadome coaches are an enticing addition to Indian Railways' endeavors to promote tourism. These coaches are engineered to offer passengers an unparalleled 180-degree panoramic view of the breathtaking landscapes they traverse. The Vistadome coach is a marvel of modern design, featuring oversized glass windows, adjustable seats, LED lighting, and an integrated GPS-based information system.

The Price of Innovation
Manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, the Vistadome coach comes with an estimated construction cost of Rs 4 crore. Back in March, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had already made the exciting announcement that the Udhampur-Banihal track, linking Jammu and Srinagar, would be completed either by the end of this year or early next year.

Current Rail Services in the Region
Currently, the Baramulla-Banihal railway sector in Jammu and Kashmir operates 19 train services, including seven that run regularly. These services cater to approximately 30,000 passengers daily, serving both students and daily commuters. It's worth noting that the year 2013 marked a significant milestone when Kashmir inaugurated its first train service, an event graced by the former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh.
