Hyderabad: Heavy rains wreaked havoc in a number of the state's districts in Telangana resulting in the deaths of two people in a wall collapse accident in the Nalgonda district and a man being washed away in the Bhadadri district.
Up to 25 students who were attending school in Mahbubnagar district were saved by villagers after a private school bus became stranded in floodwaters. Following nonstop rain, several reservoirs in the state are overflowing, prompting irrigation officials to open gates on several projects to release water.
Compared to the 700 feet of the real full reservoir level, the water level at the Kaddam dam reached 693 feet. 10,588 cusecs are flowing in while 9,087 cusecs are leaving.
The water level in Nizam Sagar reached 1,391 feet as opposed to 1,405 feet reservoir level, and the outflow water is 104 cusecs.
As against the existing level of 1,717 feet FRL, the water levels at the Singur reservoir reached 1,710 feet. It has received at least 699 cusecs of inflow vs 1,358 cusecs of outflow. In contrast to the FRL of 1,091 feet, the water level at Sri Ram Sagar reached 1,071 feet. Water level intake is 27,835 cusecs, while water level outflow is 742 cusecs.
The rain had an impact on public life in the districts of Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem. The Godavari River began to experience flooding on Friday, and at Bhadrachalam, the water level had risen to 18 feet. Officials contacted the district administration and issued an orange alert.
The village of Nagulavancha in Chintakani mandal recorded the most rainfall, with 147 mm, followed by Ravinuthala in Bonakal mandal with 120 mm, Wyra with 119 mm, and Raghunadhapalem and Madhira with 100 mm. In Madhira mandal, a temporary road connecting Maturpet and Matur washed away by the rains, halting traffic to five villages.
