BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that a 'Samman Nidhi' will be granted to people who sacrificed their lives while safeguarding forests and wildlife. The financial aid provided under this scheme will see an increase from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.

During a public address in Bhopal, Chief Minister Chouhan stated, "We have made the decision to extend the 'Samman Nidhi' to those who lost their lives in the noble cause of protecting our forests and wildlife. The amount awarded through this 'Samman Nidhi' will now be raised from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh."

In addition to this announcement, Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently visited the Mahakaleshwar temple in the Ujjain district, where he expressed his gratitude to Baba Mahakal for the timely and bountiful rainfall in the state.

"When we visited here last Monday, on September 4th, our state was facing severe drought conditions. The lack of water had caused crops to wither, and numerous fields had developed cracks. Farmers were distressed, and the situation was dire," shared CM Chouhan with reporters.

At that moment, Chief Minister Chouhan sought the blessings of Baba Mahakal, praying for much-needed rain to save the crops and bring happiness back to the faces of the farmers. He acknowledged that there was a significant disparity between electricity supply and demand as well.

Furthermore, CM Chouhan encouraged people to follow their traditions by offering prayers at their respective temples. He expressed his gratitude for the current rainfall and reiterated his commitment to the well-being and prosperity of all.

"I have returned today to offer my respects to Baba Mahakal once more, as we are now witnessing abundant rainfall. My wish is for the happiness, health, prosperity, and well-being of all. I hope for successful harvests, empowerment of women, increased investments in Madhya Pradesh, more job opportunities, improved education, and the continued growth of our state," Chouhan said.

He concluded by assuring that he would spare no effort in his endeavors and expressed his hope that the blessings of Mahakal Maharaj would continue to shine upon the state.
