BHOPAL: In a significant development, medical practitioners within the medical colleges throughout the state are set to benefit from the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission pay scale, effective from January 1, 2016. This announcement, accompanied by a commitment to scheduled salary advancements, was made by the Honourable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on the 28th of August.
The slated pay progression will be extended uniformly to medical professionals across all specialties, ensuring salary increments at intervals of five, ten, and fifteen years of dedicated service, all without the necessity of pursuing promotions. "Commencing from the 1st of January, 2016, medical practitioners in the realm of medical colleges will also be bestowed with the remuneration structure in line with the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission," affirmed Chief Minister Chouhan.
The Chief Minister took the opportunity to unveil this announcement during the inauguration ceremony of an expansive 2000-bed medical facility equipped with an emergency medicine department, a venture valued at a substantial Rs. 482 crore. Additionally, Chief Minister Chouhan laid the foundation stones for medical infrastructure projects worth a collective sum of Rs. 245 crore at the esteemed Gandhi Medical College. This historic institution houses the meticulously refurbished Hamidia hospital complex, boasting a legacy dating back to the 18th century.
Among the comprehensive array of measures introduced to bolster the medical fraternity, Chief Minister Chouhan pledged to rectify discrepancies in the computation of Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA), guarantee equitable compensation for commensurate efforts rendered across all medical domains, and rationalize the obligatory service-linked bond stipends for medical scholars engaged in serving underserved rural regions. Furthermore, those practicing under contract terms shall be entitled to corresponding privileges akin to their counterparts in contractual roles.
Chouhan underscored the imperative rectification of the remuneration structure for assistant professors affiliated with medical colleges, alongside the streamlining of regulations pertaining to the relocation of eleven local nursing establishments.
This strategic maneuver arrives on the cusp of impending state elections and forms an integral part of Chief Minister Chouhan's overarching campaign to elevate the healthcare landscape across the state. Vishvas Sarang, the Medical Education Officer of Madhya Pradesh, took the opportunity to spotlight the pioneering initiative of offering MBBS courses taught in the Hindi language—an unprecedented feat in the country. Chief Minister Chouhan acknowledged the palpable improvement in healthcare provisions nationwide, attributing this progress to the initiatives spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside the rapid proliferation of medical colleges within the state of Madhya Pradesh.
