PUNEThe second match of three Tests matches series is being played between India and South Africa. Today ended the first day of the second match. Batting first, India have scored 273 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 85.1 overs till the end of the day's play. On the first day of the Pune Test match, captain Virat Kohli returned 63 not out and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 18 runs. Earlier Mayank Agarwal scored a century, while Cheteshwar Pujara was dismissed with a half-century. At the beginning of the day, the first wicket fell in the form of Rohit Sharma, who was out after scoring 14 runs.

Indian captain Virat Kohli completed the 48th half-century of his Test career, taking India's score to 250 runs. Virat completed his fifty by playing 91 balls and hitting 8 fours. Mayank reached his century by hitting two consecutive sixes and completed his second Test century by hitting a four. Mayank completed his hundred by playing 183 balls with 16 fours and 2 sixes.

Mayank had scored 215 runs in the last Test played in Visakhapatnam. He was caught by skipper Faf du Plessis at slip off Rabada by scoring 108 runs. Number three batsman Cheteshwar Pujara led the innings with Mayank Agarwal. After Rohit's dismissal, he had the responsibility to carry the team on his shoulders, which he performed brilliantly and completed the half-century with the help of 8 fours and 1 six in 107 balls.
