In this way, informal talks in Mamallapuram will be quite different from those held in Wuhan (China). Just before the meeting between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the screw of Kashmir appears to be stuck. Before coming to India, Chinfing met Pakistan's PM Imran Khan and then his stinging statement on Kashmir and the Indian Foreign Ministry's strong reaction to it proved that the atmosphere is not completely normal.

Modi and Jinping have met in an even more tense environment (amid the Doklam developments) and have worked to build trust in the relationship. Both sides have denied that there is a specific reason behind the late announcement of the visit of the President of China. Despite this delay, preparations for this dialogue between the two sides are going on in a tremendous way. The Chinese President will go to Nepal after he ends his visit to India. This visit is considered important given the recent tensions over the Kashmir issue.
