Mumbai: The third and last match of the three-Test series between India and South Africa is being played in Ranchi. India has already taken an unbeatable lead in this series. India has so far scored three double centuries in five innings of three Tests. This is the first time against South Africa in Test cricket when Indian batsmen have scored double centuries in three consecutive Test matches.

In the first Test against South Africa, Mayank Agarwal scored a double century while Virat Kohli in the second test and Rohit Sharma in the third test. Three double centuries have been scored by Team India against South Africa in the Freedom Trophy 2019-20. Mayank Agarwal hit the first double century of his career in the Visakhapatnam Test and scored 215 runs.

After this, Virat Kohli scored the 7th double century of his Test career in Pune Test match and scored an unbeaten 254 runs which was also his best Test score. In the first innings of Ranchi Test match, opener batsman Rohit Sharma scored 212 runs which was his best score in Test cricket as well as his first double century. This was the first time against South Africa that Team India's batsmen scored a double century in three consecutive Test matches.
