NEW DELHI: Marking the 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag and delivered an address from the historic Red Fort. During this significant event, PM Modi highlighted the remarkable strides made by India in the digital realm and underscored that the reach of "Digital India" extended far beyond metropolitan hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai.

Reflecting on his recent participation in the G20 Summit in Bali, PM Modi shared that world leaders were keenly interested in understanding the intricacies of India's Digital India initiative. He took pride in emphasizing that digital advancements were not confined to major urban centers but had permeated into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, engaging the nation's youth.

PM Modi also conveyed that approximately 100 schools across India were nurturing students who were actively involved in the creation and launch of satellites. He further highlighted the presence of numerous tinkering labs that were fostering a spirit of scientific exploration and technological innovation among young minds.

Speaking directly to the youth of the nation, the Prime Minister asserted that opportunities were abundant in India. He asserted that the country possessed the potential to offer an ample number of opportunities to its young population.

Commencing his Independence Day address with the words, "My cherished family of 1.4 billion," PM Modi chose to address the citizens of the country as "parivaarjan" or family members. This was a departure from his previous practice of referring to the people as "my beloved brothers and sisters."

On this occasion, PM Modi donned a vibrant Rajasthani-style turban that featured an array of colors and an elegant tail, adding a touch of regional flair to the event.

Turning attention to the recent disturbances in Manipur, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Central and state governments to restore peace. He expressed solidarity with the people of Manipur, highlighting that peaceful resolution was the preferred approach to address disputes. Both the Centre and the Manipur government were dedicated to reestablishing tranquility in the state without delay.
