New Delhi: India reiterates that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of the country, dismissing China's baseless claims. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, emphasized this stance during a press briefing following China's recent reference to Arunachal Pradesh as part of its territory after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit.

Jaiswal reaffirmed India's position, stating that Arunachal Pradesh has always been and will continue to be an inseparable part of India, regardless of China's repeated assertions. He emphasized that India's stance on the matter has been consistently clear, including through recent statements issued on the subject.

China's objection arose after PM Modi inaugurated the Sela Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh on March 9. China lodged a diplomatic protest, with its Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin stating that China does not recognize the establishment of Arunachal Pradesh by India and opposes it.

India responded by dismissing China's claims as baseless and absurd, emphasizing that such repeated arguments do not validate China's position.

In a separate development, senior diplomats from India and China held discussions in Beijing on March 27. The talks focused on achieving complete disengagement along the border, with both sides agreeing to maintain regular communication through diplomatic and military channels. However, there was no indication of any breakthrough during the discussions.
