India beat Malaysia in Junior Asia Cup

The Indian women's hockey team defeated Malaysia 2-1 in the Women's Junior Asia Cup hockey tournament on Monday. For India, Mumtaz Khan scored in the tenth minute and Deepika in the 26th minute.  

Reports say that Diane Nazari scored a goal for Malaysia in the sixth minute. After this win, India is at the top of Pool A,  which defeated Uzbekistan 22-0 in the first match. India played aggressively from the first minute and made some penalty corners although they could not be scored. On the other hand, Malaysia initially managed to control the ball and in the sixth minute, Najeri scored a goal for her.  

Malaysia's lead, however, did not last long and after four minutes, Mumtaz scored the equal goal for India on a penalty corner. Four minutes before half time, India got a penalty stroke, which Deepika has converted into a goal. No team could score a goal after halftime. India are scheduled to face Korea in the third pool match on Tuesday.
