MELBOURNE:  Ahead of a match that must be won in the Men's T20 World Cup, veteran Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin firmly asserted that  his team is not expecting Zimbabwe to crumble.

India, which finished first in Group 2, have to defeat Zimbabwe in their last Super 12s game on Sunday at Melbourne Cricket Ground to guarantee their place in the semifinals. After having previously played seven times in this style of the game, the two teams will meet each other for the first time in the T20 World Cup.

"We must be as clinical as we can. No team is an easy win, as we all know. To be able to create pressure, you still need to go there, counter the opening phase with the bat, and bowl those nice balls. The pressure would be increased on such days by good teams who are clinical. We are aware that this contest must be won " It's a must-win game in this T20 World Cup, just like it is in every previous game. The game is something we are anticipating. Zimbabwe has produced some excellent cricket. We cannot go there and anticipate their collapse. They played brilliantly at bat and bowl. In light of that, "stated Ashwin at the news conference prior to the game.

Round-robin play in the T20 World Cup Super 12s Group 2 has been exemplary. Every team has triumphed by defeating any other team, as seen when Zimbabwe upset Pakistan in Perth with a one-run victory yet lost to Bangladesh by just three runs.

Ashwin compared the differences between T20I and Test matches to demonstrate how a team must be alert during the T20 World Cup and how favourable conditions for the bowlers have created a level playing field for all competing teams.
"Nothing is easy to understand. No World Cup victory has been straightforward. You have a horrible session when a game becomes wider, like in a Test match. You can always rally and make a comeback in a series or a Test match with the quality and pure experience of a squad. But in T20 cricket, the timelines are very little. " You cannot claim that we will take care of something later if it isn't going your way right now. To try to throw pressure back on the enemy, you must take the initiative. However, in this instance, each team has adapted flawlessly, and each team has a respectable bowling attack. The venues are large, and the wickets provide a little bit of action for the front-row fast bowlers." "Thus, it has admirably balanced the competition. It is realistic to assume that many teams and cricketers will value their wicket and skill if the field sizes are adequate. It's kind of been balanced out by this competitiveness."
