India-China military talks on Ladakh dispute continues

Leh: India and China are continuing military talks to resolve the dispute peacefully near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Sources said that after the completion of Major General level talks on Wednesday, it is expected that there will be several level of talks in Chushul in the coming days. In this, discussions will be held to restore peace in some areas.

Sources said that further talks will be held to end the ongoing tension in Patrol Point 14, Patrolling Point 15 (114 Brigade Area) and Patrolling Point 17 (Hot Spring Area) of the Galvan area. The source further said that talks on both sides were held at Major General level on Wednesday. After this, talks will now be held at the brigade and battalion level to end military tension. After the military commander level talks, there have been talks at the Major General level.

On 6 June, talks were held in Lush General Harinder Singh of the 14 Corps and Major General Liu Lin on behalf of China for talks at the military commander level on 6 June in Moldo. After the first round of talks, the Chinese and Indian forces had retreated 2–2.5 km to their respective areas at Galwan Nala, Petroling Point-15 and Hot Spring Area.
