For this year's Olympics in Japan's capital Tokyo, India has achieved 31 quotas, while 64 players (36 men and 28 women) have also qualified. An official of the Indian Olympic Association has given this information. Tell that in the Olympics-2016, 117 Indian players went to Rio, who took part in 15 different sports. The Tokyo Olympics will run from 24 July to 9 August.

For the Tokyo Olympics, India has got quota in archery (04), athletics (05), wrestling (04), horse-riding (01), hockey (02) and shooting (15). However, the Indian federations have to decide whether the players have got a quota to the country, whether they go to Tokyo or not. The Wrestling Federation of India (WF) has made it clear that the wrestlers who have been given quota will go to the Olympics. Fawad Mirza got the quota in horse riding, while both men and women teams have achieved this in hockey. A five-member team of Japanese professors arrived in India late on Wednesday night to teach courtesy to Indian sportspersons and officials for the Tokyo Olympics. This team will train players and officials on how to behave in Japan. The team also includes an Indian-born professor and the rest are Japanese citizens from Tsukuba University. This team has come to the country at the invitation of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and Sports Authority of India (Sai).

Players and other officials will be taught about things to greet women, elders/superiors in Japanese style, how to eat Japanese food, etc. Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju can also join a session with this team here. Teams of professors led by Dr. Hashiishi Sanada are scheduled to hold sessions with players, officials, coaches, health experts, and administrative staff in Delhi on 27 February and in Patiala on 29 February.
