Auckland: New Zealand veteran batsman Ross Taylor has made a record as of now no player has been able to make a mark as he lands in Wellington. He has become the first player in the world to play 100 matches in all three formats of cricket. He achieved this in the first Test match against India at the Basin Reserve Ground in Wellington on Friday.

In the first Test, New Zealand captain Ken Williamson won the toss and invited India to bat first. Taylor recently played his 100th T20 match in a five-match series played against India. He has played 231 ODIs for the Kiwi team. He is also the highest run-scorer for the New Zealand team in Tests and ODIs. He has 7,174 runs in Tests and 8,570 runs in ODIs.

Williamson raised questions on the World Test Championship fact, says 'It is understandable .'

In 100 T20 matches played for his country, Ross Taylor has scored 1,909 runs and is behind former captain Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill in this case. Taylor has said, "I think I am still worthy of this team. I am still doing good fielding and starving for runs. I am delighted with it."
