NEW DELHI:  India on Tuesday vehemently denounced the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) visit to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and deemed any meddling in its domestic affairs to be "totally unacceptable."

Arindam Bagchi, the official spokesman for the External Affairs Ministry, said: "We vehemently condemn the OIC Secretary General's travel to PoK and his remarks about J&K while in Pakistan.

Reiterating that J&K is an essential and intrinsic part of India, OIC has no locus standi in anything pertaining to it. Any attempt by the OIC and its Secretary-General to meddle in the internal affairs of India is wholly unacceptable." Bagchi continued by saying "By approaching matters in an obviously communal, partisan, and factually inaccurate manner, OIC has already damaged its credibility.

Its Secretary-General has unfortunately become a mouth-piece of Pakistan. We hope he won't assist Pakistan's evil plan to spread cross-border terrorism into India, especially in J&K, by joining forces with them ".

On December 10, Hissein Brahim Taha, the secretary general of the OIC, visited PoK with a five-person team. He went there on the invitation of Pakistan's Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
