The Indian Fed Cup team led by star player Sania Mirza made history on Saturday. India has qualified for the World Group playoffs for the first time by defeating Indonesia 2–1. In the women's doubles, the pair of Sania Mirza and Ankita defeated Aldia Sutjiadi and Nugroho 7-6 (4), 6-0 to ensure a place in the Indian team's playoffs.
