New Delhi: The Indian team, which captured the Test and T20 series, has also won their first ODI. Team India beat England by 66 runs in the first ODI at Pune. Shikhar Dhawan scored an excellent 98 runs from Team India. Batting first, India scored 317 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Chasing down, England was bundled out for 251. Prasidh Krishna impressed everyone in his debut match. He took 4 wickets.
The first match of the one-day series between India and England was played at Pune after the Test and T20 series. Chasing a target of 318 runs, England's openers batted tremendously, but later on, as the match progressed, the Indian bowlers were penetrating the British batsmen. On the England side, Jonny Bairstow scored 94 off 66 balls. Bairstow hit 7 sixes in his innings. Jason Roy also scored 46. But even after that, the entire England team was bundled out for 251. India took the first match with a margin of 66 runs. With this, Virat Brigade took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Both batsmen and bowlers contributed to India's victory. Shikhar Dhawan got Man Of The Match for his impressive 98 runs inning. KL Rahul contributed 62 and Krual Pandya 58. Virat Kohli also scored 56 runs. Prasidh Krishna, who was playing his debut match in bowling, took 4 wickets. Shardul Thakur also took 3 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar got 2 wickets and Krunal Pandya got one wicket.
