Jabalpur: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that Hindu saints do more service than missionaries. Emphasising the importance of education, he said that the evils prevailing in Indian society should be removed. Bhagwat said that nowadays missionaries are dominant, but our saints do more service than them. I am telling the truth. Bhagwat said that India is going to become a 'Vishwa Guru', but it will have to achieve that position with harmony.

The RSS chief was in Jabalpur to participate in various programmes, including the unveiling of the statue of Jagadguru Shyam Devacharya Ji Maharaj at the Narsingh temple. He addressed a lecture series at Manas Bhawan in the Madhya Pradesh city. Bhagwat said that educating Hindu society will benefit the whole world, but we have to eradicate the evils prevailing in the society and bring prosperity. Earlier, Mohan Bhagwat had said that misconceptions and distorted information were being spread against us to slow down our progress towards becoming India's 'Vishwaguru'.

In a programme in Mumbai, Bhagwat said that after 1857 (after the First War of Independence), such misconceptions were spread about the country, but Swami Vivekananda gave a befitting reply to such elements. These misconceptions are being spread to slow down our progress because no one in the world can argue with us on the basis of logic. At the same time, Bhagwat said that even those who do not believe in Hinduism think that India should develop. After 1857, the whole of India started becoming one. Awakening started coming in the society, and then, after some time, we were in a position to answer. Swami Vivekananda started answering. And those who wanted to enslave us realised that they should change their mind. The struggle continues even today. We have to teach the new generation. In 20 or 30 years, India will have a Vishwa Guru. But for that, the next 2–3 generations have to be made.
