NEW DELHI: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated during the presentation of the Union Budget on Tuesday that India is on track to achieve a growth rate of 9.2 percent this fiscal year, which might be the highest in the world.

"India's economic growth is expected to reach 9.2 percent this year, the highest among all large economies," Sitharaman said during the Budget presentation in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

She stated that the administration is sympathetic to Covid sufferers and that the country has created a strong health system during the outbreak. The government intends to empower the disadvantaged while also assisting smart private investment.

She expressed sympathy for people who had to deal with the Covid pandemic's negative health and economic consequences.  She said, India's great resilience is reflected in the economy's overall swift return and recovery. Our government intends to accomplish the vision for India at 100 years of independence put out by the Prime Minister in his Independence Day Address during Amrit Kaal, she said.
