'India is world's largest milk producer..,' says PM Modi at Dairy Summit

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi today inaugurated the International Dairy Association World Dairy Conference (IDF WDS) 2022 at India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida. During this, PM Modi said that today there is such a huge network of dairy cooperatives in India, whose example is difficult to find all over the world. These dairy cooperatives collect milk twice a day from about two crore farmers in more than two lakh villages of the country and deliver it to the consumers.

PM Modi further said that today India is the largest milk-producing country in the whole world. Today, this sector provides employment to more than 8 crore families of India. PM Modi said that there is no middleman in the middle of this entire process and more than 70 per cent of the money received from consumers goes into the pockets of farmers. No other country has such a high proportion in the whole world. Speaking at the IDF WDS 2022, PM Modi said that the affordability of the dairy sector not only accelerates the rural economy, but it is also the main means of livelihood for crores of people across the world.

PM Modi also visited the exhibition at India Expo Center & Mart, Greater Noida. After this PM Modi launched IDF WDS 2022 at India Expo Center & Mart, Greater Noida. During this, the Prime Minister said that I am sure that this conference will play a huge role in enhancing each other's knowledge and learning at the level of ideas, techniques, expertise and traditions related to the dairy sector. PM Modi said that unlike other developed countries of the world, the real strength of the dairy sector in India is small farmers. India's dairy sector is characterized by large conglomerate production rather than mass production.
