India crosses 20 lakh-mark of covid vaccinations in single-day

New Delhi: The ongoing war against the coronavirus is now gaining momentum as part of the ongoing vaccination campaign in the country. Giving information on Saturday, the Union Ministry of Health has reported that India received the highest number of vaccinations on a single day on Friday with a dose of more than 2 million corona vaccines.

According to the Ministry of Health, 20,53,537 people have been given vaccine doses on the 56th day of the vaccination campaign, ie March 12, through 30,561 sessions. Of these, 16,39,663 health care workers (HCWs) and frontline workers (FLWs) have benefited from the first dose of the vaccine. Also, 4,13,874 HCW and FLW have been given the second dose of vaccine. So far, a total of 2,82,18,457 doses of the vaccine have been given through 4,86,314 sessions.

Among the states most affected by corona, Maharashtra has a total of 63.57 percent active cases. Here 15,817 new cases have been registered in the last 24 hours. At the same time, covid-19 has less than 1,000 active cases in more than 20 states/union territories. Meanwhile, the national recovery rate reached 96.82 percent. With this, the cumulative recovery increased to 1,09,73,260. Apart from this, 140 people have also died in the last 24 hours due to corona. The percentage of new deaths in five states is 81.43.
