Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju has said that the country is planning to organize the BRICS Games along with the Khelo India Games in the year 2021. On Tuesday, Rijiju announced this after a meeting of the Sports Ministers of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). The country will get the chairmanship of this independent international group of 5 countries in the year 2021.

Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said in the statement, "BRICS Games 2021 will also be organized with Khelo India Sports 2021 at the same time and place. With this, our players who come from different parts of the country to participate in the Khelo India Games will get the benefit of watching the BRICS Games". He said," This is going to be a morale-boosting moment for them.''

The minister also said, "We are also hopeful about organizing Khelo India Youth Games and Khelo India College Games in the year 2021." He further said," During the Khelo India Youth Games year 2021, BRICS members will be invited to perform their traditional domestic games during the opening and closing ceremonies."
