New Delhi: The number of Rafale fighter jets in the Indian Air Force fleet is soon to be 36. France will deliver 3 Rafale fighter jets per month in the next three months. With this, the last consignment of Rafale will reach India by January 2022. Rafael is a 4.5 generation mead omnipotent role fighter jet. It is equipped with twin-engines (two-engined). It is also capable of carrying out ground and sea attacks. At the same time, it can attack air to air and air to ground.

Out of these 36 aircraft, 13 will be equipped with India Specific Enhancement, which means Indian technology is used extensively. So far, India has received a total of 26 Rafale fighter jets from Dassault Aviation, which is operational in Ambala in the western region and Hashimara in the eastern region. Three more Dassault-made fighter jets will land at Jamnagar base on October 13.  These aircraft coming from France will be fueled by the UAE Air Force in the middle of the air.

Three and three others are likely to join the Indian Air Force fleet in December after October 13. However, the last of the 36 Rafale aircraft, the 36th Rafale fighter, will be fitted with Indian technology-based equipment and will be the deadliest Rafale aircraft. The aircraft will be equipped with India-specific enhancements. It is scheduled to arrive in January 2022.
