India and the United States have joined forces for a special training mission named 'Tiger Triumph-24' held in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. This exercise aims to enhance their readiness and teamwork in dealing with disasters and providing humanitarian aid.

During the exercise, teams from both countries worked together to practice landing on beaches and setting up facilities like field hospitals and camps for people affected by disasters. The goal is to improve how they coordinate during natural calamities.

Various branches of the Indian armed forces, including the Navy, Army, and Air Force, participated alongside US Navy ships carrying troops from the US Marine Corps and Army. They used a variety of vehicles and aircraft to simulate rescue and relief efforts.

Jennifer Larson, Consul General at the US Consulate General in Hyderabad, and other officials from both countries observed the exercise. Rear Admiral Joaquin J Martinez de Pinillos of the US emphasized the importance of such operations in building trust and preparedness for real crises.

Rear Admiral Rajesh Dhankar of the Indian Navy expressed confidence in the benefits of the exercise for both countries, stressing its role in improving their abilities to save lives during disasters.

The 'Tiger Triumph 2024' exercise, which began on March 18 in Visakhapatnam, will run until March 31. It involves ships from both navies, including INS Jalashwa and USS Somerset, among others.
