AMRITSAR: Indian ambassador to the United States (US) Taranjit Singh Sandhu during his visit to Amritsar here on Saturday that India and the United States were developing a close relationship in as many five significant areas which could be helpful for both nations. He said India-US partnership has become one of the most consequential relationships for both the countries and for the world.

The Amritsar native Sandhu visited the Golden Temple and Teja Singh Samundri Hall, the headquarters of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), which bears his grandpa Teja Singh Samundri's name.
He said both India and the US were developing a strong and close relationship in areas of defence and strategic affairs, healthcare, energy including the environment, climate change, solar and battery technology, IT, digital startup and innovation etc.

He said that 55 percent of the generic drugs sold in the US were produced in India, demonstrating the enormous potential for affordable medicine, particularly during an inflationary period.

One of the most important ties in the world, led by President Biden and Prime Minister Modi, is the India-US cooperation. He said, we are constantly collaborating and taking advantage of our synergies and complementarities to achieve world peace, stability, environmental sustainability, and human development.

As India is making positive strides, we have more work to do to fulfill the aspirations of future generations. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed the journey of the next 25 years would mark the generation of a new India. The goal of this Amrit Kaal' is to ascend to new heights of prosperity, Sandhu said earlier.
