Ahead of the thrilling India vs Afghanistan T20 cricket match at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) has announced an extension of metro train services on January 17.

To ease the commute for cricket enthusiasts attending the final T20I match of the series, BMRCL has extended service timings until 11:45 pm from four terminal metro stations on both the Purple and Green lines. This move aims to prevent congestion of private vehicles around the stadium during the highly anticipated match.

For those planning to travel during the extended hours, special return journey paper tickets will be available for purchase at all metro stations starting from 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17. These tickets, facilitating single journeys from Cubbon Park and MG Road Metro Station to any other metro station, will be valid from 8:00 pm until 11:45 pm on the same day.

Commuters can also opt for QR code tickets, offering a 5% discount on regular fares when purchased on the match day. These QR code tickets can be obtained through various channels, including WhatsApp, the Namma Metro App, or PayTM. Additionally, smart cards and NCMC cards will remain valid, and these measures have been implemented to reduce crowding at ticket counters.

It's important to note that during the extended hours, only QR tickets, smart cards, and paper tickets will be accepted at Cubbon Park and MG Road Metro stations.

The India vs Afghanistan T20 match is scheduled to be broadcast live-streamed on JioCinema, starting from 7 pm (IST) onwards. According to Google's win probability, there's an 84% chance that India will emerge victorious, and Crictracker predicts a series clean-sweep for India, regardless of the team batting first.
