Melbourne: The Indian team will start the Test series from 17 December against Australia, for which the countdown has started. Team India players performed well in the practice match and submitted their claim for the playing eleven for the first Test. The first Test will be played with the pink ball, but the biggest difficulty for India is their opening pair. Australia has played seven pink-ball Tests while India has only participated in one. But who will open it remains a headache.

For the first Test match to be held in Adelaide, Cheteshwar Pujara is ready for batting at number-3, captain Virat Kohli at number-4, Ajinkya Rahane at number-4, but there is still a question of who's a new ball with Mayank Agarwal. Who will face the batting at number-6? In the second practice match played at Sydney Cricket Ground, Hanuma Vihari hit a brilliant century against Australia-A.

This practice match was played day night, with Vihari's century, his batting at number six is considered almost certain. India has to play the first Test day-night match in Adelaide. This will be India's second-day night test match. The team played its first Day-Night Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata last year in which Vihari was not included in the team.
