London: Indian cricket team's opening batsman KL Rahul continues to perform well in the tour of England. Rahul has played a brilliant inning in the second match of the Test series against England. He has scored a century at the historic lord's ground. This is the sixth century of Rahul's career. An Indian batsman has scored a century at Lord's after 7 years. Ajinkya Rahane scored a century against hosts England in 2014. Rahul is the 10th Indian batsman to score a century at Lord's.

He completed his second Century in tests against England in 212 balls. Rahul looked comfortable from the start in front of England's pace bowling attack. He had no difficulty facing bowlers like James Anderson and Ollie Robinson. It is also worth noting that Rahul ICC also becomes the first batsman to score a century in the 2021-23 cycle of the World Test Championship. KL Rahul has now become the third Indian batsman after Ravi Shastri and Rahul Dravid to score 100 runs in Tests at The Oval and Lord's (both in London). Coming to the match, England won the toss and invited India to bat first, which Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul proved wrong. Both gave India a strong start.

Rahul and Rohit shared a 126-run partnership for the first wicket. Rohit returned to the pavilion after scoring 83 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara came to the crease after Rohit. He could not last long and returned to the pavilion after scoring 9 runs. Skipper Virat Kohli and Rahul then took over the field. The duo added 117 runs for the third wicket. Kohli returned to the pavilion after scoring 42 runs. He fell prey to Ollie Robinson. Rahul and Rohit's innings have given India a strong position. India was 276 for 3 at stumps on the first day. Rahul is unbeaten on 127 and Rahane on 1.
