The Tamil vigilante action film "Indian 2", directed by S. Shankar and starring Kamal Haasan, has been making waves at the box office since its release on July 12. The film, which is a sequel to the 1996 iconic film "Indian", has received a mixed response from audiences but has still managed to perform well at the box office.
According to early trends, "Indian 2" collected 15.1 crore on its third day, with 11 crore coming from the Tamil version, 1.3 crore from the Hindi version, and 2.8 crore from the Telugu version. This takes the film's total collection to 58.9 crore in three days, with 41.2 crore coming from Tamil, 3.8 crore from Hindi, and 13.9 crore from Telugu.
Despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar's "Mission Mangal" and Prabhas's "Saaho", "Indian 2" has managed to hold its own at the box office. The film's opening day collection was 25.6 crore, followed by 18.2 crore on the second day.
The film features an ensemble cast, including Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Surya, and Bobby Simha, among others. It has been released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages.
Kamal Haasan reprises his role as Senapathy in the film, which has been directed by S. Shankar and written by B. Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Lakshmi Saravanan Kumar.
The film's performance at the box office is a testament to the enduring popularity of Kamal Haasan and the "Indian" franchise. Despite facing stiff competition, "Indian 2" has managed to carve out a niche for itself and is expected to continue performing well in the coming days.
