New Delhi: As the eagerly anticipated G20 Summit approaches, New Delhi is ramping up its preparations to host the international event on September 9 and 10. Ensuring the utmost security of the city's airspace has become a top priority, with the Indian Air Force (IAF) orchestrating comprehensive safety measures.

Dedicated to establishing an impregnable airspace shield over the capital, the IAF has orchestrated an array of advanced security measures. Employing cutting-edge AWACS surveillance aircraft and state-of-the-art Rafale combat planes, the Air Force is executing a robust defense blueprint. Integral to this strategy is the deployment of state-of-the-art air defense missiles, including the technologically sophisticated Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) and the formidable Akash air defense missile system.

To guarantee swift response capabilities, fighter aircraft, notably the Rafales, have been elevated to heightened alert status on operational readiness platforms. Furthermore, the Indian Air Force has initiated the activation of multiple airbases, both within the city and its vicinity. These encompass the Hindan air base, along with bases located in Ambala, Bhatinda, Adampur, and Sirsa.

In a bid to bolster monitoring capabilities, the Indian Air Force will leverage the domestically developed NETRA surveillance aircraft.

Under the theme "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," derived from the ancient Sanskrit text Maha Upanishad, the G20 Summit is set to underline global unity. This theme resonates as a poignant slogan for the international conclave, emphasizing the shared destiny of humanity.

Anticipating potential security threats during the G20 Summit in Delhi, a contingent of 69 explosive detection dogs from the police K9 squad will be strategically stationed at critical points throughout the New Delhi district.

Scheduled to take place at the esteemed 'Bharat Mandappam' within the ITPO Convention Centre, Pragati Maidan, the G20 Summit will span September 9 and 10. Beyond the primary summit site, foreign dignitaries are scheduled to tour key landmarks within the national capital, including Rajghat, IARI Pusa, and NGMA (Jaipur House).

Among the distinguished leaders slated to participate in the event in New Delhi are US President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Chinese President Xi Jinping, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Regrettably, Russian President Vladimir Putin will be unable to attend.

As the summit approaches within a week's time, Delhi is witnessing an accelerated pace of beautification efforts. Comprehensive initiatives spanning cleanliness, sanitation, green transformations, and other enhancements are in full swing, painting a picture of a city ready to welcome the world's leaders for a historic event.
