New Delhi: The strength of the Indian Air Force has increased further after three Rafale fighter jets from France reached India late at night. Now the total number of Rafale aircraft in the Indian Air Force fleet has increased to 11, eight warplanes reached India last year. It is noteworthy that three Rafale fighter jets from France arrived in India late night due to the ongoing tension between India and China.

All the three Rafale aircraft travelled a long distance more than seven thousand kilometres and landed directly at the Indian Air Force airport. The process of refuelling the air in all the three Rafale aircraft was carried out by Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Rafale planes have been prepared by French company Dussault Aviation.

The first batch of five Rafale fighter jets arrived in India on July 29, 2020. Almost four years ago India signed an inter-governmental agreement with France to purchase 36 aircraft worth 59 thousand crore rupees. The second consignment of three Rafale fighter jets reached India on November 3 last year.
