New Delhi: Akanksha Singh, daughter of a former Indian Air Force (IAF) sergeant, has made her district and institution proud by getting the second position in the All India rank in NEET 2020 exam from Gorakhpur branch of Aakash Institute. According to media reports, she secured 720 points out of 720, which is the first time in the history of the National Medical Entrance Examination in India.
She has topped Uttar Pradesh and has become the first girl from rural Purvanchal who has achieved such a good result in this examination for admission to the famous medical colleges in the country. The result of this examination has been announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA). In eastern Uttar Pradesh, the village of Kushinagar district, Akanksha Singh has achieved this result while fighting against all odds.
With any proper coaching available in her district, she travels 70 km every day from her village to the Akash Institute Centre in Gorakhpur to take part in the preparation of this medical entrance exam to realize her dream of becoming a doctor.
