New Delhi: The issue of the encounter between the soldiers of India and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) at Tawang in Arunachal has now become a matter of concern at the international level. Now the United Nations has also given its opinion on this issue. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has also talked about reducing tension on the India-China border. When asked about the news of a confrontation between India and China, UN chief spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said, "We have received some reports in the media. We will ask both the countries to reduce the tension. It should be ensured that tension does not escalate in the area."

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also given a statement on this issue in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha after the news of the skirmish between Indian and Chinese soldiers came in the media. He said about this, ''The Indian Army bravely stopped the PLA from encroaching on our territory and forced it to return to its posts. Some soldiers from both sides have been injured in the skirmish.'' The Defense Minister has said that the Indian Army foiled an attempt by the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China to unilaterally change the status quo in Arunachal Pradesh's Yangtse region on December 9. Rajnath had said that no jawan lost his life in the encounter and no one was seriously injured.
On the other hand, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in a press conference in Beijing that the two sides maintained smooth communication on border-related issues through diplomatic and military channels. He had said that at present the situation on the border with India is stable. Significantly, this was the first major clash between the soldiers of the two countries after the bloody clash in the Galvan Valley in June 2020.Â
