New Delhi: The Indian cricket board will soon have a policy in place for its players to combat the tendency of "pre-determined retirements."
The policy will be created by office holders and presented to the Apex Council within a month, according to Indian Board Secretary Jay Shah.
“We’ll come out with a policy to prevent the trend of pre-determined retirement. The office bearers will make a policy and send it back for approval,” Shah said

There is a chance that BCCI would implement a cooling off period. This means that players who leave all forms of cricket, including the Indian Premier league, must go through a cooling-off period before being permitted to participate in an international competition. Due to recent occurrences in which former India players have announced their retirement and then joined a T20 League abroad the following week, the cooling off period for retired Indian players will be in effect. The former players have received hefty compensation cheques due to the season's numerous leagues.
In the near future, the Indian board will issue an application call for support workers for the Indian women's squad. Despite the Cricket Advisory Committee's (CAC) recommendation, it is the key reason why the board hasn't appointed a coach for the women's squad.
“The CAC has recommended the name of a head coach. They will also interview. They will also interview a batting and bowling coach. We will announce the names of all coaches before the Asian Games,” Shah added.
Regarding the media rights agreement, Shah said that it would be completed by the end of August.
The Indian team's participation in the Asian Games has been accepted by the Apex Council in the meantime. Shah stated, “We are going to participate in the Asian Games. The Apex Council has approved the participation of our men and women’s teams.”

The men's team is a B squad because the starting lineup will be occupied with the home 50-over World Cup. From September 23 to October 8, China's Hangzhou will host the Asian Games, and from October 5 to November 23, the ICC World Cup.
Shah added that India will play three one-day international matches (ODI) before the World Cup in September and five ODI matches against Australia following the World Cup. He added, “The new media rights deal will kick start with eight ODIs against Australia.”
The standardization of the Impact Player rule was one of the choices made at the Apex Council meeting. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Indian Premier League had separate impact player rules. Teams could change one player in their starting XI during the Syed Mushtaq Ali competition, but they had to do so before the 14th over of an innings. There was no such restriction in the IPL.
