New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry today made a statement in Parliament on action on lynching-related incidents in different parts of the country. According to the Home Ministry, the existing criminal law is being reviewed by the government. The Home Ministry has stated that the government is reviewing the existing law and preparing it according to the status relating to such law and order. The government's effort is to bring justice to every part of society within the stipulated time.

In the Rajya Sabha, the Home Ministry has said that it is the endeavor of the government to create a legal section in the society which is easy for the general public. At the same time, the government has strengthened systems to curb fake news and rumors that play a role in incidents such as mob inciting, lynching. The question was raised by MP Manoj Kumar Jha in the Upper House. Manoj Kumar Jha questioned whether the law relating to hate crime, mob lynching has been amended by the government as directed by the apex court. Manoj Jha had also sought data from the government on hate crime, mob lynching incidents

In the last few years, incidents related to mob lynching have come to light in different parts of the country, after which the Opposition attacked the Central Government and the State Governments. For a long time, the issue was overshadowed by the politics of the country.
