New Delhi: If there is a danger of taking a terrible form of a horrific epidemic like Corona, should every staff in hospitals be deployed together? Italy did the same. However, one major drawback of this strategy is that if one health worker gets coronavirus infection, then the rest of the hospital staff will also have to be sent to Quarantine, because each hospital staff comes in contact with each other directly or indirectly.

There will be a huge shortage of staff in the hospital and the entire hospital itself will become useless. This is what happened in Italy. Taking lessons from this same mistake in Italy, the country's top government hospitals adopted the rotation formula under which all hospital staff including doctors, nurses have been divided into three parts. A group works for a week and goes into standby mode for two weeks. Similarly, B and C groups also do. Those adopting this strategy include AIIMS in Delhi, Jodhpur and Bhopal, Safdarjung and Lok Nayak Hospital in Delhi.

An official said that if there is a risk of infection with one group in this manner, then two groups are ready for duty. Director of Delhi AIIMS, Dr. Randeep Guleria said, 'This formula ensures social distancing in hospitals. This increases our level of preparedness and secures important resources such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). '
