New Delhi: Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), visited INS Shivaji in Lonavala, Maharashtra, on Friday, where he reviewed various training activities and facilities. During the visit, Admiral Tripathi praised the integration of advanced technology and modern methodologies into the training programs and infrastructure at the naval base.
The CNS emphasized the critical role of effective training in fulfilling the Indian Navy's primary mission: protecting national maritime interests. Earlier, on August 7, Admiral Tripathi released a strategic document titled "CNS Course to Steer-2024 (CTS-2024)", outlining his vision for a combat-ready, credible, cohesive, and future-ready navy in line with the concept of a "Vikshit Bharat" (Developed India). The document articulates key goals for the Navy, focusing on enhancing maritime capabilities and readiness.
The CNS has urged the naval community to approach their duties with dedication and resolve, using CTS-2024 to guide the Navy's strategic direction and maintain its role as a key element of India’s maritime power. Admiral Dinesh Tripathi assumed the role of the 26th Chief of Naval Staff on April 30, succeeding Admiral R Hari Kumar.
In related activities, on August 5, INS Tabar, returning from St Petersburg, Russia, conducted a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with the German Navy off Kiel Canal. The exercise, which followed INS Tabar’s visit to Hamburg from July 17-20, underscores efforts to strengthen maritime relations between India and Germany. The Ministry of Defence highlighted that this exercise represents a significant milestone in maritime cooperation between the two nations.
