Indian Navy conducts major Operational level exercise TROPEX, Details here

NEW DELHI: Indian Navy's key Operational level exercise Theatre Level Operational Readiness Exercise (TROPEX) for the year 2023, conducted across the expanse of Indian Ocean Region (IOR)over a duration of four months from November 22 to March 23, culminated this week in the Arabian Sea.

According to a news release issued on Thursday by the Ministry of Defence, the overall exercise construct featured the amphibious exercise AMPHEX and the coastal defence exercise Sea Vigil.
According to the statement, the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Coast Guard all played a substantial role in these drills.

The exercise's theatre of operations, located in the Indian Ocean, which also included the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, covered an area of more than 21 million square nautical miles and stretched 4,300 nautical miles north to south up to 35 degrees south latitude and 5,000 nautical miles east to west from the Persian Gulf to the coast of North Australia. Almost 75 aircraft, six submarines, and about 70 ships of the Indian Navy participated in TROPEX 23.
The Indian Navy's rigorous operational phase, which began in November 2022, comes to a close with the conclusion of TROPEX 23.

The Hon'ble Raksha Mantri spent a day at sea on the recently commissioned Indigenous Aircraft Carrier Vikrant on March 6 as part of the last Joint Phase. He examined the Indian Navy's operational readiness and material readiness, during which the Navy performed operational manoeuvres and many aspects of combat operations, such as live weapon firings and deck operations of indigenous LCA.

He praised the Indian Navy's operational readiness while speaking to the fleets and emphasised that the nation looks to the Navy to make sure that our enemies' economic and military lifelines are damaged to the point where their efforts to wage war can no longer be sustained.

He said that he is completely confident in the Indian Navy's ability to protect India's national interests in the maritime domain and that it will foil any possible enemies' evil plans to endanger India's peaceful existence.
