New Delhi: The Indian Navy's deployment to ASEAN nations began on Friday when the cruisers Delhi and Satpura landed in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.
The four-day port visit, which will take place from May 11 to 14, aims to advance India's friendly relations with the Kingdom of Cambodia and expand their marine cooperation.
The Ministry of Defence stated that during the port call, personnel from both navies would engage in a variety of professional engagements, deck visits, and sporting exchanges to improve interoperability and understanding.
The first indigenously built guided missile destroyer in India, the INS Delhi, and the indigenous multi-purpose stealth frigate, the INS Satpura, both have a wide range of weaponry and sensors as well as the ability to transport multi-role helicopters. India's advanced ship design and shipbuilding capabilities are demonstrated by the ships.
In addition to working together to improve collaboration in a variety of areas, including trade, investment, and tourism, India and Cambodia have a long history of cordial relations.
It said that the goal of the Indian Naval ships' visit was to strengthen the close ties of friendship between the two nations.
